Warning – Car Jacking Trick

We don’t usually get into chain emails but this is one of those that has a fair message to send. Keep alert to your surroundings and if anything is out-of-the-ordinary, be safe first.

You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.  So, you shift the gear stick back into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!!

Your engine was running. You left your purse, wallet, briefcase in the car. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

You certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address.  Especially when they already HAVE your HOUSE KEYS!!!

Advice.  Regrettably we now need to be more aware than before. Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later.

Another version is where someone flags you down or is lying on the road: when you stop their accomplices appear and you are in trouble.

Fortunately in Australia these types of incidents are not common. On the whole, Australians help each other out and don’t think anyone is up to nefarious activities. We don’t live in fear as some do in for example South Africa or America. But be mindful that similar incidents have happened here.

Take responsibility for your safety and be vigilant.
